We are in a dry spell & need to know how to bring back the spark. Not just physically. But on an emotional & mental level as well. We also have a 2 month old baby. So it's a little difficult to spend alone time together.

The issue of bringing back the spark in a marriage is about defining what a marriage is. I beleive a marriage is a 24 hour a day job and each party to it has to do their part. So, it's not a matter of bringing back the spark to a dull routine as much as it is a matter of never letting the spark wain in the first place.

A new baby can be a hurdle for a lot of couples do overcome, but they must do it together. When the child is so young, it needs constant attention and care, and I beleive it should both parents responsibility for the baby's care. If one or both of you work, then the idea of work has to be taken into consideration, but regardless of work, both parents are responsibile.

A word of concern is to never, ever forget, that the children will leave the house one day to forge a future for themselves. What will you and your spouse have left if you don't maintain the spark between now and then?

I hope this helps!

Be risky and fun. My wife and I have a 7 month old baby and I think that what has made the biggest diff is that just take time, have a glass or two of wine after the baby is asleep and just enjoy one another! And remember, don't worry. If you worry it will get in the way of everything. Babys will cry and stress you out, but you can just walk away.

Put the baby on a good schedule, I always had mine in bed by 7. I napped when they napped. That way, I had time for my husband. I worked part-time too. Fix yourself up, just like when the two of you were dating, be spontaneous, make plans, get a sitter, and surprise him with a nite out. That will help, emotionally as well, for the both of you.
