I have one, but I can't find any info on it. It makes a pinkish/red berry in the spring. Their tart/sweet taste makes great jelly. My grandmother once told me that it would take 2 years for a seed to sprout.

Although the bush is called a Gummi, it is not pronounced like "gummi worms". It is pronounced like "goomi".

Any help would be great.

The correct spelling is Gumi, and is believed to have originated in Japan. It was brought out of Japan by settlers after WW1. After approximately 4 years it should grow to approximately 5 feet, and at full growth about 20 feet. And as you quite rightly said makes a nice jelly type jam. Again their are supposed to still be original trees still to be found. Also the fruit is derived from the olive. Enjoy.
