It sounds like pseudo-psych babble to me. Am I missing something?

I actually have heard this or "lesbian trapped in a man's body" a number of times over the last few years. It always sounds plain ignorant to me, but thougth I'd ask about it.

A male lesbian, or a lesbian identified male is a man who will have sex with women, but will not use his own equipment. He will perform like a woman would, but will never use his c**k.
Odd, I know, but that's what a male lesbian is.

There is a condition know medically as "gender disphoria", and popularly as "transgenderism", where an individual feels that the body they were born with is the wrong gender. This is a totally a question of self image as opposed to one of sexual orientation, and as a result such a person will consider their sexual orientation from the viewpoint of what they believe they should be, rather than what they physically are. If you honestly believe that you are a woman, all physical evidence to the contrary, and you are attracted primarily to women, you would, in your own mind, at least, be a lesbian. That is the key difference between gays and transgenders. A gay man wants to have sex with people of his own gender, a transgender man who was attracted to men would not. In that person's own mind, again, she is a hetero-sexual woman who, for some reason, was born in the wrong body. That fact that gay and straight are not the only options is why this section is called: "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender". To all the transgenders out there, I realize I am grossly oversimplifying a tremendously complex subject, but in the limited space available it was the best I could do.

There is NO SUCH THING as a man trapped in a lesbian's body! Trust me - I am a lesbian and I know these things. A lesbian by definition is a woman who has relationships with women. It has nothing to do with men. A man who has relationships with women is called a heterosexual male. Lesbians and heterosexual males are NOT the same.
