well, you could speak with him yourself, he might appriciate the straight forwardness, people like that, who seem to enjoy failing people and are proud of the fear they put in students by doing so, enjoy usally someone that stands up for himself. Ask why he failed you and if theres an extra assignment you can complete or anything.
Are you asking if you should retake the class?
if you are, again, talk to him about it. Tell him you felt you understood the material and arent too sure retaking it would help you. Does he?
if hes nasty and seems like he'll fail you again, just move on, as im sure you know from football, you cant win them all.

No teacher runs a class so difficult that he only passes 18 out of 200. Ever hear of the curve as a way of grading? If most students fail, then the teacher has failed as a teacher.
i think you made this up - probably based on the book by Tom Wolfe," I Am Charlotte Simmons," where one of the main characters has a similar problem.

Switch classes and save your GPA. It's not worth being in a class with a teacher who won't pass you. You should also bring it to the attention of the administration at your school. If a class is rigged so that only 9% of people can pass, then there is most certainly something wrong with the ciriculum, and it needs to be changed.

So you're a football player who's main goal is to become a pro...with your skills on the field. If you can put time and effort on the field, how come you can't put them towards your class?

Why don't you study. That is a good start. I doubt you study since your a football player. If it is a honors or AP class, then drop it and go to a regualar class. If it is a regular class, you are stupid. If it is a English teacher, I know why he failed you.

Since when did the NCAA or NFL care about academics?
Personally, I think you are full of yourself. Why would three coaches need to talk to him about your failure?
Can't you handle your own problems, like do your homework and study for tests and quizzes?
