They have been pretty awful, but that seems to be a hallmark of industrializing nations.

On the plus side, they've shown a few signs of being able to learn from the mistakes of others, and are already beginning to really suffer from the pollution.

In the U.S. we had a huge area and a small population while industrializing, so we got away with being pretty filthy. The Chinese certainly have the area, but the size of their population is making them feel the effects of environmental mismanagement much more quickly.

I believe they'll start improving soon.

about ur answer considerin China havin an enormous population, and and currently advancing rapidly in technology,its not fair to say the chinese have no sympathy for the enivonment. However there are always minorities who have lack of respect for environment as such as all over the world there are always minorities. But honestly the chinese government does not focus enough on environmental issues

They are new at the pollution game. But they learn fast these Chinese.

Yes, they do and considerably more than the Bush regime, unfortunately.

They ride bikes more than we do. They aren't fat like Americans either.
