First--you are not stupid. Everyone that knows how had to learn. Knitting is with two long needles--each about 10 inches long. Personally, I think it is maybe a little nicer stiching for sweaters and such--I do not knit. Crocheting is with one needle. Someone taught me. But you can buy instructions of "how to crochet" and it is very easy--but if you don't know how--don't know if it is that easy. A scarf seems to be the best first project. Instructions tell you how to make the stitch, however it does not tell you how to hold your yarn. Yarn is used with both knitting and crocheting. I really think it would be easier if someone would show you. My opinion. Hopefully you know such a person. I crocheted two bedspreads--one for each of my children--one year for Christmas. Good Luck.

The obvious difference is that you only use one hook to crochet while in knitting you use two needles. I do both.and find that generally crocheting goes faster and works well for hats, scarves and afghans. Knitting usually works out better for sweaters. You can find inexpensive books or magazines at most craft shops that sell yarn that will give you beginner instructions, with diagrams. I would recommend that as a beginner you try using worsted weight yarn and a size g or f hook, that will be easy to work with. Good luck and have fun!

First, i'm left exceeded. I knit genuine exceeded and that i crochet left exceeded. I found out from books over 50 years in the past. i've got seen in numerous shops, alongside with WalMart, kits that instruct you to the two knit or crochet. additionally, i've got seen distinctiveness yarn shops that supply classes. in case you have a individual instruct you, and you will do the crafts left exceeded, sit down for the period of from them. then you definately've a reflect photograph of what you should do. the two knitting and crocheting are great pastimes. I crochet to loosen up and while i'm mad or disillusioned, I knit up a hurricane. good success and luxuriate in.

Crocheting is a lot faster than knitting. It is done by using one hook shaped needle. Knitting uses two pointed straight needles. It's kinda easy to get started and do the basic things like scarves & blankets. But both can get complicated really fast. I prefer to crochet. Once you learn a few basic stitches you can do quite a lot.

The needles are different and I believe crocheting is easier to learn. You can pick up small patterns at walmart with easy instructiond and cheap to start. i would try a scarf or abelt or something first. Everyone in my family does it. I have ponchos and blankets. In the 60's we made pocketbooks and vests and belts. Very cool. Good luck

They are about the same, crochet is with yarn, and knittin is when u sew stuff together to make a quilt. And embrodery is when u draw a design and then sew over it with different colors.
They are all good hobbies that used to be so popular.
