It's a Ukranian 5 kopek piece.

The letters that look like YKPaiHa are UKRAINA in roman letters.

I'm afraid it's not worth a great deal! There are 100 kopeks to a rouble and today the Russian rouble is worth about 4 US cents!

It was minted the year after the Ukraine became independent from the USSR in 1991, so it may be one of the first coins to have the name 'Ukraina' on it. The design still looks very Soviet to me, though. It seems to have ears of wheat or barley (the Ukraine is one on the big grain growing areas) wrapped in oak leaves. On the other side it says '5 kopieeok' (5 kopeks).

The Ukraine... the script is called Cyrillic and is the same as in Russia, which Ukraine was part of for many years when the USSR still existed. I can't tell the age, but it looks Soviet era as the unit of currency referred to is a Kopek, part of a Rouble.
