If you want to see a hella scary movie, then I suggest the movie "Death Tunnel" made in 2005. This movie is based at a historic place either in Kentucky or Tennessee. If you have seen Ghost Hunters, then you probably already seen the place. But it is a famous sanitarium where 65,000 people died of TB back in the early 1900's. Anywho, this movie is made in the sanitarium but they changed the name of the sanitarium. There are 5 college women who took some kind of challenge and they were put into different rooms and different floors in the sanitarium with old style gas masks on their heads with a string around their necks. They wake up finding themselves alone. But are they really alone? Nope. In the actual sanitarium, there is reported ghost activity and hauntings. In the movie, the stories are pretty much the same as what happened in the actual sanitarium. During the filming of the movie, there were also reports of ghoulish actvity. So if you want a really scary movie, do some reasearch on this sanitarium and then watch the movie. I guarantee if you are light-hearted, you will be very scared. I didnt even get halfway through the movie before I was gastly scared. LOL Happy Haunting! I also want to add that I dont think this movie was released into public theaters. The first I've heard of the movie was on a pay-per-view site.

Stanley Kubrick's 1980 version of the Shining is pretty scary. but the all time most terrifying movie is the original black and white 1964 version of The Haunting of Hill House. No monster masks, no blood and gore, no hellmouth with spirits flying out of it. Just pure horror. I love to watch horror movies but it's mostly because I like to exercise a little psychoanalysis of the fears and anxieties of writers and the movie watching public. Generally I don't get overcome by fear and horror from these movies. But I can't watch The Haunting alone, that's for sure. If you want to watch a genuinely scary movie, go out and find this one.
A lot of other movies which came after learned from it, too. But don't bother with the remake from the 90's. It is not the slightest bit interesting or scary in any way.

The absolute most disgusting thing I have ever seen, I think falls into the scary category as well is Faces of Death. I think there are like 3 or 4 of them and it shows real deaths happening among other disturbing things. Check it out if you have the stomach for that sort of thing lol.
