What images or situations could I used as systematic desensitization for a fear a heights? What kind of relaxation could I use for the client and how would I incorporate this into the program?

Alright, I'm no therapist, sorry. I'm a student in college trying for insight on my paper. Geesh....

first off in order to use systematic desensitization you need to teach your client breathing techniques. Breath in through your nose fully so that their belly expands (not the chest) and breath out through their mouth.. Proven to work. Then possibly take them to a location with an elevator that's see through, or to a building where they can look over the side (but not too high at first) gradually increase the stimulation and it the fear will lose it's power. It's not something that changes overnight, but it's possible to overcome phobias.
Good luck!

face heights... yes simply face it.. put urself in situations where it usually scares u.. start step by step.. for example start by X meters, u will first be scared but then try to face it.. u will then find it normal... then X+ something.. then more X .. until u reach the airplane height.. u wont fnd it scaring anymore.. .. i had this so called foobia.. i used to have fear of closed places.. 2 years ago, i was home alone, and we were doing some construction in the house.. i got stuck, by accident, in a non organized small room, where things were not organized at all and i found myself dying.. i was acting in a histerical way.. and i was about to jump from the window (my house was at the 7th floor) i was acting in a stupid way.. ... but then i tried to calm down.. and i faced the fact that am in a small closed room, but tis ok, i can face it.. and i did.. i calmed down for few minutes.. then tried to find a solution.. and i could easily find one.. it was such a simple solution, it was infront of me, but i couldnt see it when i was acting in histerical way.. .. and after that accident i found that this fear of closed places was gone.. and now i dont have a problem with it, as long as i know that its normal and i can face it when i act wisely.. .. so my friend, u have to face it.. face it.. believe that you are stronger and you'll find that you are really stronger.. Good Luck..

If you are a therapist which it sounds like you are, you don't treat people for things you aren't experienced in. You shouldn't have to ask yahoo answers how to treat a client. I could answer your question but I think you need to seek the proper training for doing this form of therapy. You know better.
