it tells me none of my friends are online when really they are. it's so annoying and i don't know what the cause is. is it my computer or what?

Yahoo messenger didn't lies to you. When your friend go offline to all friends then they are actually cloaking. You can send them a message while they cloak but you won't see their presences.

They could be using stealth settings! It's a feature that allows people to appear offline when online, and can adjust it so it only applies to certain people.

It does that if your friends don't have Yahoo or MSN Live Messenger! It did that all the time to me!

your friends are in invisible mode. maybe they dont want you to know they are online

find new friends because they are lyin to ya or you have the set-up wrong check it.

they have their online icon invisable to you so you can't see that they are online.
