It is used for driving for several hours on highways and you don't want your foot on the gas pedal all the times. Just simply set your speed and press it and your car will run at the same speed for hours. Press it again to cancel and your foot can be on the gas pedal again

Hondas are amazing cars... they even come with operator's manuals to tell you exactly how to operate the car! It should be in the glove box. They also have terrific support... should the owner's manual be missing you can write www.helminc.com and order another one fairly cheap. Once at that web site, you can even find your service manual which I highly recommend even if you never work on your own cars. Just knowing what to expect by reading the service manual can save you tons of money that you won't spend when Earl at the backwoods auto shop tells you your muffler bearings need to be replaced or the Halogen needs filling in your headlights. Short of getting to know your car, CalexicoD's answer may suite you better!

Okay... here's my $0.02 answer to your question... the cruise control makes the car cruise along at whatever speed you happed to be at when you set it without having to keep your foot on the gas. In fact, you will feel the system take over the gas pedal. It is turned off a couple of ways:

1. Touch the clutch pedal (you don't have to press it far)
2. Touch the brake pedal (you don't have to press it far)
3. Turn off the master switch
4. Simulataneously press the accel and decel pushbuttons.

You know the system is on when the "cruise" light illuminates on the dash. When it is turned off, the light turns off.

Good luck!

cruise control is a system that maintains your speed for as long as you want it to. As you are accelerating(only on the highway that is nearly emtpty) you accelerate at the speed you want to. then when there is a safe distance between you and the next car, which is about 70 feet, you should press the cruise control button, to turn it on, there should be a button near it that says set accel, press that or move the stick down to that position, then, your car will be maintaing the speed! all you have to do is turn and steer. Cruise control does not turn off by itself, so if you want to turn it off simply step on the brakes. The next time you want to use your previous speed, then you press, move the stick to coast set. The same process applies here.

Cruise control means that you can set how fast you are going on the high way and hold it
Example:
Lets say you are going 60 mph and your foot is getting tired from holding the gas peddle down.
You can put or turn on the cruise control and it will hold the car at 60 and you can take your foot off.
Don't worry . To turn it off, just touch the break peddle, or turn it off.
It has this safety so you can over-ride the system and stop safely

they say no longer to apply cruise administration till driving some distance distances like you suggested earlier, even with the indisputable fact that it could be used on the expressway as well, and the reason being your driving p.c. continues to be a similar, therefore your rpms stay a similar as well. Which in turn saves on gas, the added stops you should make the added gas you dissipate. My suggestion fill your tank and each and every time you're taking the expressway use your cruise administration, the subsequent time you want to suitable off with gas each and every time you rigidity on the expressway do not use your cruise and consider both, that way you understand if its worth it to apply your cruise administration or no longer. good luck!

You speed up to the speed that you want to remain at and then you hit the cruise control button and then after you hit that the button all you have to do is sit back and relax. You turn it off by hitting the break slightly.

It's the button that let's you listen in to what Tom Cruise is doing. He's got a deal with honda where he wears around a mic 24 hours a day and anyone with a new honda can listen in to what he's doing.

It's pretty cool. My wife has it and sometimes we just sit and listen on long trips. It's much better than having a conversation. Although you've got to be careful not to fall asleep while you're driving and listening to him.

I'm surprised they didn't explain it when you bought the car! It's a sweet feature.

You press the button and let the car drive itself and go asleep...j/k its to set a speed so your feet doesn't have to be on the petal. Also you can acc/decel with those buttons also.
