No sir.......not all warnings are advanced. It's like....well.......swim lessons.
You have "begginers." You give a small little warning in the "beginning." But society has taught us that they ignore those beginning warnings because they feel invincible and don't believe that they are ever going to be touchable!
So warnings then are promoted to "advanced beginners." These warnings are much more special. They are beginners but seem to catch on quicker than the typical beginner. In other words, people actually stop and take notice of these warnings more often and actually contemplate the ramifications of such a warning.
Then there are "intermediate warnings." We are all such putzes. We actually have to be warned about how much of a warning we shoudl be warned about before warning us about how crutcal the warning is prior to being warned. So the purpose of the "intermediate warning" is to say that this is approaching crucial warning status and you really really should not take it lightly. In other words......we are warning you about the warning.
So we finally hit the "Advanced warning." This warning has experience. It's been through the stages and it has reached that peak." Don't mess with me " warning should be its nickname. It has "attitude" and sass and confidence personified! It is telling you that you have reached the end of the warning rope and if you go any further...........you're toast.
I often think we should just call it.......LAST Warning. Which is a question all itself. Why is the LAST warning an advanced warning which makes it sound like it is prior to when in truth is comes following all of the others?
I seriously think we need to warn all people that visit our country that our language is as messed up as our politics.
Hope this helps. ;)

You could have an advance warning "Warning: Minefield ahead". But you could also have a warning "Warning: You are in the middle of a minefield, watch where you step!"
There is also, for example, warnings about Global Warming, even though it is already happening, and as such is not an advance warning.
After-the-fact warnings can still be useful, if you didn't yet know that all those Enron shares you bought years ago had since become worthless and the retirement money you thought you had isn't actually there.

Well in view of the fact that "advanced warnings' have been given on numerous occasions in regard to hurricanes, tornadoes and floodings, etc. , they really haven't accomplished much, have they!
Just proves when you are dealing with nature, we really don't stand much of a chance which is at it should be. Imagine if we could control nature!
Warnings given for man-made occasions such as bombings, etc. do seem to work at times for air raids and such but with modern warfare techniques, how useful are they really?

See your point. Kind of like the last time I was on an airplane and we had a "near miss" with another on the taxi way. Huh? Doesn't that mean we collided? Near hit maybe.
