My wife is not here right now to ask, but it is only a few minutes. Use taxis or local buses. They are not far apart at all. Minutes, not hours apart.

I want to make sure that you know what "retired" just posted is absolutely incorrect. I'm not sure if he thought you were meaning to the Cancun strip or not. But it is not even close to being minutes! It was probably just a misread though.

Alll Travel packages well ok all the ones I do include transfers from the airport down to your hotel. This varies on the destination though. People just aren't and shouldn't rent a car in Mexico though is why.

To get from the Cancun airport to the town of Playa Del Carmen it takes about 45 min - 1 hour. This depends on traffic and how many other hotel stops you are making. There are certain companies that now offer non-stop transfers for an additional cost of I think it is $19.00 per person which in my opinion is well worth it considering well I just don't like stopping =) I want to get on the beach right away!

The Mayan Riviera area is so large and so many lovely hotel/resort choices in various parts. Some of these hotels are quite far down so keep that in mind when looking at them.

I would strongly consider working through a good travel agent. We can help you in finding the right hotel for what you are looking for. Also give you honest opinions of places as opposed to possibly looking online and seeing touched up pictures. Some hotel pictures are touched up; some don't do the hotel justice. You can only take online reviews with a grain of salt. I mean if there is one with excessive complaints yeah that usually isn't a good sign! It's just sometimes a person has a one bad thing happen and they exaggerate everything else, like "The food was horrible and the service was terrible". When neither may have been such, it's just they are upset from something else that may have happened.

So while finding the perfect hotel for you we then look for the best prices we can get for your dates, hotel, room category, etc.

Also against popular belief agencies don't tack on commissions, it's just if you book directly with a vendor instead of us booking it for you. You still will pay the same price, it's just that vendor doesn't have to pay an agency a commission. Many agencies do charge a nominal service fee only because we definitely do a lot of research for our clients. Well at least I know I do =) can’t speak for everyone because like any profession there are good and bad agents out there!

No matter how you choose to make your reservations to Playa Del Carmen I hope you have a Fantastic time.

Please note that starting Jan 8th 2007 you will be required to have a passport for Canada, Mexico, Caribbean, Puerto Rico, Etc. If you have one great, if not apply right away because depending where your application goes it can take 4 weeks or 12 weeks to receive!

Man, simple question, simple answer. It takes about 35-45 minutes to get into the town of Playa del Carmen from the Cancun airport. Most resorts are a little before or after town. Done it many times...

i could say bypass to Riviera Maya, Mexico and stay at Iberostar Paraiso Del Mar which incorporates all your nutrients and many activites. Google it to look on the lodge. it is a million/2 way between Playa Del Carmen and Cancun. Playa Del Carmen is extra family individuals orientated and Cancun is all partying with not that many all inclusive lodges. each and every thing you prefer to do, I extremely have completed in the two holidays that i became there. We weren't too a ways from any of the excursions so it wasn't an all day affair on a bus. in case you prefer to funds money, an all-inclusive is a thank you to bypass. in case you have the different questions, be at liberty to question me.

From Cancun airport or downtown, there are first-class buses to Playa del Carmen. It takes about an hour, since buses are speed limited, but distance is about 60 Km or 40 miles. Service is fast, clean and cheap.

It isnt far and if you go to the bus terminal in downtown Cancun you'll find buses going to Playa (thats how locals call it). It is very cheap and will take about an hour. Bring some extra cash for shopping on the 5th Ave. PS: From Playa you can take the ferry and go visit Cozumel. If you have time go to Xcaret and dont miss the Night show...it's amazing!

We just came back from Cancun and had a blast. We rode the bus everywhere. It cost just 65 us cents one way anywhere in town. Just make sure you know which bus to get on and where to get off. They drive really fast, but I didn't see any wrecks. The guy in our hotel (Gran Caribe Real) told us to ride the city bus for 65 cents to a certain spot then you board a van or bus to go to Playa. He said it was about $6.00 and took 30-45 minutes. He said a taxi was about $30.00.
