Make sure that you add some keywords inside of META tags on your homepage.
content="Your sites keywords here ex. Electronics, Televisions, etc."
name=keywords>
Also, have you submitted your site to the major search engines like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc? Most sites have a "Add Your URL" section to do so.
The search engines also look for your page to be linked on other websites, so visit some message boards and drop in a few comments with your website as part of your signature.
In general, the more "legit" your site looks from a total web perspective (content, links from other sites, keywords), the better the chance of it being listed.

Has your website been added to sites like Google and Yahoo?
You should be able to see if it has been submitted for search by searching for your sitename in Google or Yahoo.
If you're searching by keywords that you "think" should find your site, the designer is correct in that it could take a while for search engines to rank it high enough to show up in the 1st few pages.

Search engines must first "crawl" the web and find your web site. Then it must index it and rank it for keywords.

You may like to try using "Traffic Blazer®" package under "Build a Website" menu at sassydomains.com . This will analyze your website, and help to submit your website to search engines, provide you submission report etc.

Well first if you want it on Yahoo search, I suppose you have to send them and do something else so they can post it up.
or like the web designer said, it'll take months. So be patient.

i don't believe it's that bad, but give it a day, and you, will find your site, unless you didn't submit it to search engines, then it might take a little longer, but never months! That's nonsense!

this is true. usually, the search engines don't catch up on your website for a while. mine did the same. it is bad, yes, but what else can you do? to promote it, you could use myspace, make a mini website on there or something
