Unless you owned things jointly you most likely will get very little. You have been separated for five years and now you want division of assets?

Get a good lawyer and try but five years separated before getting divorced is not going to help. Court might want to know why you are after the assets now and not five years ago. You better have a real good answer for them.

You better ask your lawyer about this one-it may depend a lot on the situation. Like if things were in your name or his before you were married or whether you had any children may make a big difference. After waiting 5 years your chances may not be as good as they would have been if you had divorced sooner. If you want the divorce bad enough then you won't really care!

If I were your husband I would have hidden any real assets that I thought you would want. That is so easy to do. You should have been doing it too. Isn't divorce wonderful.
