This is coming from a very non-religious conservative.

But I always growing up was surrounded by a religious family, and the Ten commandments always sounded good to me. And I based growing up loosely on the foundations of christianity. Looking at all of these kids under 18, it seems like they don't have enough faith in their life that they have a reason to not be retarded.

They have no respect, they except everything to be handed to them, and they do not want to progress fruitfully.

is this the lack of religion / faith in goodness / eternal punishment?

Yes. Those who engage in 'social engineering' are well aware of the power of media to influence young people. Also, the power of religious morality. So, they use the media to drive wedges between young people and God. They want to turn the young into pleasure-seeking animals, making them easy prey to marketing and Socialist mob indoctrination.

We in the film/TV industry are trained to use film and television to influence the attitudes and beliefs of our audience.

Look at the new 'God' - TV - and you will understand why American kids are increasingly immoral, immature, decadent, socially regressive. Mimetic learning - they learn from what they see.

See how Fathers are made into a mockery on TV and you will know why they can no longer teach their children right from wrong. Television/Movies make the children into the 'wise' leaders and their parents into buffoons - so children are trained to no longer seek or accept their parents' handed-down wisdom based on experience.

Thus, the media, as a replacement for God, has become a powerful force to reverse Human progress towards wisdom and civility.

And we who work in the media know that it is a conscious effort to create that result. Some, like myself, struggle against that scheme.

No, it's due to the lack of parents. We Have to work our azzes of for all the things we think we need.I made a personal choice to keep a parent in the house no matter what. It's been horribly brutal to be a one income family, but by god when one of my kids calls on the phone mom or dad WILL answer. for this I gave up cars houses boats an all the other things folks think they need.To all those I say why make a living if you don't have a life!Trouble is now we are an anomaly, none of the systems know how to deal with us being an intact family unit. But now my kids KICK AZZ. my youngest is 12. 6 more years and I'm done hooooooohooooooo!!!! At the end I'll have had kid's for 25 years. next year I'll have 5 teenagers for about 2 months with little trouble thanks to my policy.I now look at other kids and even my kids can't really stand them. I guess I messed up in reverse.

It's not the lack of religion, it's the materialism and violence that they are bombarded with everyday
parents need to start being parents again and realizing that kids don't need to have everything they ask for...going back to more simple times would help our families alot
Having one parent at home and the other bringing in the money that is needed to have a family, elimates alot, you don't need to have the expense of second car, try walking, try making kids walk for a change,
there needs to be big changes made but I think religion has done more harm than good.....I think exploring the spiritual is great but to have one religigon be the end all is not right for everyone...it doesn't resonate with everyones spirit and we need freedom to search and find what is right for ourselves and christainity is a relgion that is threatened by people thinking outside the box they are put in

It is a total lack of responsibility and every day they are taught that there are no consequences for anyone's actions - there is always someone else to blame or hold responsible. This as a result of several factors, not the least of which is the sue happy legal system and the complete collapse of common sense and morality in the entertainment industry.

As a simple example, if you are old enough to remember television in the fifties - compare the programming with today's trash. Violent and sexually explicit "entertainment" is today's norm - anything goes - to hell with any type of morality - after all, that's censorship!

Adding to this concern is the fact that both parents work full time in many, many instances - and with the ACLU hand cuffing the teachers - who's bringing these kids up anyway?

I am a Christian. I do not, however, believe that the immorality, if that is what you want to call it, comes from a lack of religion...

I do believe that there has been a secular humanist religion invading our public school system for quite some time...

Do you hear me saying, "Put God back into schools?" I am not saying that. I am saying take out the secular religion. It would be better to truly just concentrate on reading, writing, math and science (minus origin theory)...

Parents are the teachers of morals, but this job has become next to impossible with a school system so infused with social education that our children consider themselves "gods unto themselves..."

I just watched my wife's 9 year old little sister doing a dance called "Booty Pooping" lmao...any how she is the mouthiest disrespectfull child I have seen. They attend church regularly so I doubt lack of religion plays a role. Lack of Parenting Power. I used to get a leather strap across my rear and I deserved it when I got it, but if you do that to a child now you would lose them to the courts. It's scarey for me to picture what will be voting in the years to come.

I agree with the above poster... most religion as I have seen it spawns yet another thing to divide the human race, as well as some of the most fierce wars we've seen.

NO!!! due to LACK OF PARENTING!!!!!
we are not supposed to be their friends we are the parents. When you allow your child unsupervised access to TV and refuse to correct your child when they break the rules YOU GET OUT OF CONTROL CHILDREN.
"TIME OUTS" are fine for older children but there is nothing wrong with a swat on the bottom for young toddlers.
I advocate discipline NOT abuse.
Morals are not exclusive to religions. Don't lie, don't steal, treat others how you want to be treated. These are not just religious ideas these are universal ideas about right and wrong. Religions just lead to hate and alienation for the unreligious or religious of a different faith.
Just my opinion.

had one question for another answerer--what is "secular religion"?

The rulers of this world have very much succeeded in their plan to devoid our children of all religious, moral, and ethical sense. They have turned their minds into a complete wasteland, teaching them disrespect, fighting, and killing. With a complete generation lost in this manor, how can humanity survive? Is there any possible way of avoiding an all out nuclear world war 3?

Its not just lack of religion. It's lack of responsibility and the ability of parents to discipline their children. We can't just slap a child because of his foul language in a store because someone will call the cops and we go to jail. We can't spank a child when they run into the street because someone will call the cops and we go to jail. hell, you can't even yell at your child in your own home without the fear that the neighbors will call the cops.

And yet, thousands of children are abused and neglected each and everyday.....and their parents just keep on doing drugs, drinking and abusing without fear...

Just like at the store if the "inventory control" alarm goes off the innocent customers stop and get their bags checked...and the thieves keep on walking....

I don't believe that children are growing up immorally due to lack of religion.
