I'm a virgin, and I don't want my hymen to be broken before marriage. I use tampons, so will this break it and would I know if it had already been broken??

Nope-you are still a virgin. A tampon is not long enough to break it and trust me that when you have sex you will know that its broke or torn.

Do Tampons Break Your Hymen

Your hymen can break by many things, this is of course assuming you have a hymen as some girls are not born with hymens and some girls break their hymens when they are very young. The hymen does not mean anything, it has nothing to do with virginity or the worth of a girl or woman.

Tampons or anything internal whether it be another menstrual option such as a menstrual cup, object like a sex toy or with your own fingers while masturbating can break the hymen. They hymen can bleed when it breaks and can be a little to a lot of blood, it can hurt when it is broken but it is just as likely to not be felt or even be pleasurable to a degree

If you get yourself a mirror and a light, sit on your bed comfortably with pillows under your back so you can see your vulva [external part of your genitals] with a mirror, make sure there is enough light for you to see properly and look for your hymen – most hymens look like a ring of flesh around the opening to the vagina, if broken it may look stretched or like little flaps of skin around the opening to your vagina.

There is a good site here - http://www.healthystrokes.com/hymengallery.html - it has images [not photos] of vulvas and different types of hymens, it has descriptions underneath so you'll be able to see which is an in tact hymen and which would be a broken hymen so you know what you are looking for when examining yourself.

If it broke you can see fluid and some blood (light). Please don't worry about it. Many girls break their hymen when they are young and unaware of it happening. It can tear from falling or even riding a bike. Tampons may or may not break it as it depends how far in it goes. If you are worried use pads only and they are safer too.
If you are worried that you hymen is broken and your marital partner might think you slept with someone else, don't worry about it. Most men would not even notice and if they love you they won't care. They will no you have not been with a man because of your actions. Men usually know when a women is a virgin and they really know very little about hymens.

Get yourself examined by a doctor. They will be able to tell you if its broken. I really dont think you should be using tampoons if you want to stay a virgin.
