because when you are pregnant you need extra weight to make a baby. This just shows that your body is healthy. Don't fight the wieght gain to much. Your body knows what it needs to do.

A fully developed fetus and all the other stuff they come with (amneotic fluid, placenta, other tissues) weighs on average 27 lbs...
The normal healthy weight gain during a pregnancy is 30-35 lbs..
35-27= 8 that 8 lbs is distributed in breasts enlarging (about 2-3 lbs).... now we are down to 6 lbs which is distributed among things such as added blood vessels and blood volume needed to support the fetus (about 1/2- 1 lb) now we are down to 5 lbs... While pregnant extra stresses are placed on muscles and bones causing them to get stronger adding mass (about 1 lb)... That leave 4 lbs in extra weight distributed throughout the body in various amounts...
With multiple births (twins and higher order) the recommended weight gain is more due to the extra weight of additional fetus' and the stuff that comes with them...
When you look at the weight gain and know where it goes and why it's not such a big thing...
While you don't want to gain alot of excess weight you also don't want to remain the same weight as prior to pregnancy... For instance you weigh 115lbs... If you remained the same weight aftr giving birst your weight would be 115- 27 = 88 lbs not a healthy weight for any one over age 10 and 4' tall....
When you are pregnany you want a happy medium, gain the recommended weight gradually over the course of your pregnancy.... Continue to exercise changing your exercises to accomidate your growing size and safety.... Expect to lose the weight just as gradually over the course of time.... You may retain a few of the lbs you gained due to body changes such as larger breasts....

You're supposed to gain weight. The baby needs nourishment, a placenta, extra blood, fat deposits, and he/she needs to grow strong. I started out at 110, and I now weigh 136 at 38 weeks. I have exercised and eaten healthy the entire time. That is your best bet, and if you keep up with all that, you will have a healthy baby, you will go back to your normal size quicker than most, and labor will most likely be easier. good luck!

Because your pregnant one thing. Your eating for two now not one. And in order for the baby to weight a good 7 pounds you need to gain weight i know you don't want a small baby right? so your body going to put fat on to it regardless of what you eat how you work out your body its just getting fat.... i know its crazy, i hate it too. But in the end you will love that baby and forget about your weight (smile)

you have to gain weight for the baby, you ll need to gain weight and not try to lose weight otherwise your baby will either be miscarried, premature, & or very unhealthy for life. Please stop doing cardio often to keep your weight its really not good for your baby at all. It is important to do something like, walking or swimming to maintain the exercise in your daily routine, that is very good for you and the baby but not if you try to lose weight. stay eating healthy but you have to provide enough for your baby too. talk to a doctor to make sure you are eating enough for the two of you and doing enough/correct exercise, then once you have the baby you can look into losing the weight. breastfeeding helps you lose weight! good luck!

You have to gain weight in order for the baby to be healthy. The weight you gain is from the baby, the growing uterus, the placenta, and the amniotic fluid. You should not try and lose weight when pregnant unless it is under doctors orders.

It's really baby weight you are gaining, it does not sound like "I'm pigging out" weight. Sounds like you're very healthy, so I'm sure that the baby weight will go away quickly after the baby is born. Just keep doing what you're doing. Good luck!

Because you're pregnant. In order to have a healthy baby, you need to gain between 25-35 pounds, more if you're underweight, less if you're overweight. You gain weight because you retain water, the fetus is growing, your placenta thickens, and you produce more blood.

You are pregnant and you will gain weight..esp. if you are underweight you will probably gain a bit more no matter what you do you will gain weight...keep in mind its all for the baby you are carrying. Do not go on any diet while pregnant. Just continue doing what you are doing..gaining is perfectly normal.
