A man went into a store and spent one half of the money that was in his pocket. When he came out he found that he had just as many cents as he had as he had dollars when he went in and half as many dollars as he had cents when he went in. How much money did he have on him when he entered?

I didn't type anything wrong!!

He went into the store with $99.98. He came out with half of it, or $49.99.
He went in with 99 dollars and came out with 99 cents.
He went in with 98 cents and came out with 49 dollars, and 49 is one half of 98.

he had nothing..... he spent half of this nothing in the store .... half of nothing is nothing so he had nothing in the end. As many cents as he had dollars .... well he had no dollars when he went in so he had no cents when he went out and half as many dollars as he had cents when he went in ... well half of nothing is nothing so he still came out with nothing....

is that an answer

I dont know the answer but he spent half the money on his pockets. What if he had a wallet, would it still be counted as money in his pockets?
