Why at times, when I rec. an e-mail that includes pictures?

some or all of the pics come thru as a blank square with a small red x in the upper left corner. Message part is ok, but how can I view the pics. What does the red x mean ?? This only happens on occasion.

The e-mail does not contain the actual picture. The e-mail contains a link back to the original picture. If your e-mail software cannot access the original picture, it will display the default picture which is a red X.
