Why does this web site consider using all upper case "rude"? Do you consider using all lower case rude also?

Using all upper case letters is generally accepted in cyberspace to mean you are shouting. And it's rude to shout all the time. That's what I tell my kindergarteners, and the same thing applies here! This is true on any web site, IM, email, whatever. I don't think using lower case is rude but I think it's lazy. Then again I'm a grammar/spelling/punctuation nerd.

Because using all caps is considered to be shouting. It is also harder to read than normal typing with proper capitalization and punctuation.
In the days of yore...when 100 baud was fast and hard disk space was $1000/KB, shorthand was acceptable and expected to save space.
With today's fast connections and huge/cheap storage, using shorthand may be OK in IMs, but for posting, it's pure laziness.
I've been doing computers since 1968. I do know and understand the abbreviations, but they are for personal communications, not public consumption.

Speaking only for myself I consider all lower case rude as well. I classify that with ppl speakng b4 they thnk or mis-spalling. I find this text-speak to be hard to read and lazy.
