Believe it or not, I think we should grant amnesty to illegal aliens. Why? because it would teach us all to take border security more seriously in the future. Why penalize people for breaking a rule that was poorly enforced in the first place? WE are the reason we have lousy borders, not the Aliens. They broke the law, but we are the ones who allowed them to with our apathy and indifference.Sometimes people need a fire ignighted under their proverbial asses to get them to do the right thing. Declare amnesty and see just how fast we get an electrified fence and gun touretts on the southwestern border. And that's coming from a white libertarian who resides in AZ!

Jane, shame on you! When you ask "what did president Bush do to protect the borders and stop illegal immigration after 09/11/2002," but then go on to say you don"t want to hear "What did the Dem's do" shows that you are being blatantly partisan.
You aren't the victim of another ultra liberal college professor are you?

Nothing. Neither did the Dems.
Overall I think Bush has done fairly well, but this is certainly one area where I knock him. It effects not only our society, but it's also an economic and national security issue too.

I'm glad you think this highly complicated issue can be reduced to an issue of black or white (dems vs rep). Both groups lack balls. Everyone is too worried about the popular opinion to make things happen. That's why nothing gets done with efficiency and decisiveness.

The republicans have done nothing.
While it is true the democrats have not don't anything either that is not a valid comparison. The republicans are in the majority, they can do what ever they want and they choose to do nothing.

They failed miserably. However, it just doesn't get any lower than the Democratic party and they're still 1000 times worse.
The Democratic party needs to be shut down for being completely anti-American and against the well-being of the United States. If one of them gets in the next election, we're fininshed.
