You may have to go to a pain management Dr. who can give you an epidural in the neck that helps for some time. It's cortisone and anasthesia. I had it done 2 times. I didn't have a lot of luck. Ended up having 3 disks removed and cadaver disks put in, plated, screwed and fused. I have been in pain for over 5 yrs. now. My disks were degenerating. Crumbling and the nerves being pinched. It's pain 24-7 still and some migraines but, I suppose my head won't fall off. LOL Have to laugh or I will cry! te are Neurologista that use Botox injections for migraines. Did that too before. Wouldn't do that again either.

Don't get a shot first, at least try a chiropractor. There are some risks of getting shots (eg paralysis, death) most people think of chiropractors as just low back, but they are so much more than that, including neck and headache pain.

This type of headache is known as a " Muscle Tension Headache" and is treated with the generic forms of the drugs Esgic/Fioricet or Midrin. These drugs take a sedative to relax you some Tylenol to kill the pain and some caffeine which makes the Tylenol work better, they may be used in conjunction with or without codeine. These are probably the most common type of headache treated by physicians.
