This is a paradoxical question. If you look in the last place first, in turn, it would not be there. It would still be in the last place you looked. It's like a mobius strip, just keeps on going and going without a beginning or end. I also blame it on the 'minute people'. I got this idea from an episode of the 'Twilight Zone'. Seems these tiny people actually move your possessions and create havoc by placing these things elsewhere. I would rather blame these occurrences on a little gremlin than to admit my memory is failing me.

I actually thought very seriously about that same idea today. I was looking for something at work and looked in 4 cabinets, then as I was walking around to the last 2, I thought, "Of course, it's going to be in the last place I look." And it was, of course.
But it was literally the last place because aren't any more cabinets beyond the 6. I stopped to think about WHY I look in the order I do (work was slow today - casual Friday). The (il?)logic I discovered was this: the first 4 cabinets are the most familiar, the ones I use the most. Other people do come along and move things which is why I always have to look for needed supplies.
But I decided that next time I will stop and think, "Where is the LAST place I want to look?" Instead of just following my normal routine, I'll try this. Let you know what happens. ;-)

Yes.

Speaking of wasting time........*cough* Isn't there a little task you are neglecting? **raised eyebrows with her teacher look**

The last place I looked it said that it wasn't there in the first place. Which means the place I thought you were going to go to first must be the last place on earth you seriously wanna look. But I'm still looking for you in that place and if that lasts they I hope that the first place you'll last will not be the last place you wanna look to......first.

Have a pleasant day. :)

Interesting theory. But if I applied that theory, and started with the last place, it would actually be the first place that I looked.
I think understanding quantum physics and the chaos theory might help in developing a proper technique on how to find lost articles.

I often have to work my way BACK to the first place to find whatever I've misplaced (like a treasure hunt in reverse).
And heaven help me if I put down something else along the way (then I might have to begin in the middle and work my way out in several directions!).
The quickest way for me to find things I've lost is to STOP LOOKING FOR THEM. Then they magically appear in minutes, if not seconds.
