Some think the more high-profile right wing talking heads such as Bill O'Reilly and Ann Coulter are really not that sincere and are just out to make money. If so, then they are not "nuts" but just opportunists, trying to gain attention and an audience by being controversial. Their commercial success would tend to encourage future highly polarizing positions on issues. My question deals with their motives - Do you believe they really believe what they say or write all the time, and do you think such strong beliefs makes them nuts? Or do you think we are all being "played" for fools, and they are laughing all the way to the bank?

I don't believe they could possibly believe what they say. But if you repeat things long enough, as they do, They may actually get to the point where they really do believe what they say and then that would make them 'certifiably nuts'. I think this is surely the case with Rush Limbaugh. Of course drugs may have a daily effect on that note. Shame is people buy into this opportunist crap.

Well , Bill O'Reily is in it for the money but he does belive what he says and is not a nut because he does make some sense, Anne Coulter is not afraid to tell you what she thinks of different people but she is a women who says women should not be allowed to make any government reforms even though she is trying to do exactly that and when questioned about this she says "look at me" in reference to her looks making her a Feminazi which is bad.

I can't speak for Bill, but Ann Coulter is definitely nuts.

Even if not sincere, that would make her just as nuts.

Being the way she is for the sake of money would make her just as nuts.

Ann Coulter makes a lot of certifiable people look sane by comparison.

If you're right, it would be the majority of Americans who are nuts, and not these two...

As you said, "they are laughing all the way to the bank!" Nothing nutty about that...

As you get older, you will understand that certain writing and speaking styles are more persuasive than others. This is also true about ideologies...

they are certainly laughing to the bank... the only nuts are those that listen to them and think it's real...

they are like the guy selling the food dehydrator at 3 a.m. on TV... they can't believe people are buying their crap, but they would be stupid to stop selling it, when they are making millions off of it...

No.

O'Reilly is too sanctimonius, but he is often correct in his point of view.

Coulter too is often right, especially at showing the hypocracy of the left. While she can be funny and has a wicked wit, she spills over into what I would call hate speech too often.

No, the real nutjobs are the ones who are always comparing Bush to Hitler and calling the GOP Nazis or fascists. You know, you see it all the time.
