Huh. I've never heard that Urban Myth. I can say that as a youngster skating at a rink, I became so distracted by a fight occurring off the rink that I slammed into a wall. I just let myself coast while watching the fracas and the next thing I saw were starts.
Highly embarrassing, but happily nobody noticed because they also were watching the mini-riot.

Never heard it of being an urban myth BUT when I was about 10 I was walking backwards while talking to a friend and when I turned around I walked straight into a concrete lamp post... it was excruiatingly painful for a little while (stars swimming in front of my eyes etc) and had a lump on my head for a few weeks, not to mention that my friend didn't let me forget about it for a long time!!

yes, (not sure why that would be concidered an urban myth) it really hurt. I guess I actually turned into it. See I was turning round really fast and got smacked in the face.

I have not but I was in Hawaii when I was 23 and dressed up for dinner and a guy walked right into a pole looking at me! What a compliment!!!

I haven't but, I have seen people do it. Some people read while they're walking and others maybe are very deep in theire own minds that they just don't see.
