I think its because most people who get married feel that the "honeymoon" should never end.....and when it does they just don't know what to do. Lets face it at the beginning of any relationship EVERYTHING is great....you partner can do no wrong....but as time goes on you start taking each other for granted....he throws his socks on the floor.....she has makeup all over the bathroom.....he does not listen to her....she doesn't understand him etc. That is when one or the other goes "Looking" for that feeling again with someone new and "exciting" instead of talking it out with there partner....and like someone else mentioned its FAR toooo easy to get a divorce.

I think it's because of an earlier mid-life crisis and that most people go through phases and try new things, and that's when you start to divide your pathes. It's like when you were a kid, you made friendships with the kids who had similar interests like playing certain games, then when those change, your friends do, then when they change again, so do your relationships. This division increases exponencially until you are into the 1/129,098 of a friend, and then nothing. The same is true of relationships, if you think of it like driving from one state to another; you're usually never on the same street you started out on, but all the pavement connects together. But one wrong turn and you end up on the street you never wanted to find: Divorce Court.

it's even worse for thsoe 18 ~ 25
much higher, like 85%

the number one reason people divorce is over money
not cheating
and it usalyl goes like this
men make more of it
are usaully better at saving
and when they marry often find out that their wifes
have an emotional connection to moeny and thus spend to
feel good, so they are ually in debt
do not save
and that affect the man's credit rating
her money is often seen as mad spending money
his as bill money
after a while the fights build
and the man no longer tolerates what he sees as someone who does not share the same long term goals

the other aspect is men tend to be goal oriented
and that means.. assuming stright out of highschool you got get a degree
now you are 22 to 26 ( ba to masters ), ideally you'ld keep away from women to set up your life
ideally
but women are dream killers
they will compete for you time and attention
when in reality a young man is in his "carreer" mode and really has no time for women and the headaches
especially young ones , who demand much but give little in return
once degreed, he must establish himself inside his chosen carreer,
this can take up to age 30 for him to finally begin thining about marriage
ideally he should wait until about 35..
as he has a house by then
saving in the bank
a semblance of a retirement account
a good credit rating
and can aford children
but few will wait this long
those that are committed often come out WAY ahead in life
with less debt, less emtional problems and less likely to divorce

Eh, they're "starter marriages". People in that age range have grown up with the understanding that if they get married, they can get divorced if they want to. Marriage isn't necessarily as sacred as it used to be- unfortunately.

We all learn by example if 50% of marriages end in divorce, maybe 50% of all 25-35 yr olds are from divorced homes!

I think it's way too easy to get divorced now. It takes a lot of work and a mutual committment to each other and the marriage to work out your problems. And lots of times counseling. I know, I've been there. But, it's worth it in the end.

Because of immaturity and selfishness and because American women have been conditioned to believe that if their husband doesn't supply the castle and the fairy tale then he's bum and it's off to divorce court. They don't want to realize that a relationship is work and compromise

They lack commitment to each other. When that lovey dovey emotional sides wears off, and when the hardships of life rears its ugly head, these couples fall apart, and call it quits. Then they repeat the cycle over again. That is why these couples married 4-5 times in their lives.

Because apparently they weren't mature enough when they actually married. Or, a lot of people in these days seem to get "tired" of their marriage, it no longer has its fresh love element, and hey, everyone else is doing it. =/
