There do seem to be more black people in the South. I guess they don't like cold weather. Besides, it's too cold there to grow watermelons, everyone knows that.

Hey sorry, you asked and I answered. Damn my sense of humor.

Who thinks this? There's black people in every state. I've been to Minnesota many times and have seen lots of black people.

I think most people think this not just of Minnesota, but most of those midwestern states. People think that no one is out there. I work in a call center, and when I ask what state they're in and they say something like Wyomming, I think, who the heck lives there? You just never hear about those states, and the black people there must be mellow. Those states never seem to be on the news.

For the same reason that they think all Californians are blonde, with giant boobs. We're not, I can promise you!

But people get an image in their head about what other places are like, and until they go there to see it for themselves, it's really hard to change that image.

I'm sure you have an image of what Alaska is like, for example. Until you go there, you won't really know. You can hear people talk about it, and see their pictures, but even this won't really change the inner picture you have in your head.

probably for the same reason some people dont think there is electricity or indoor plumbing in northern minnesota... it all goes back to stereotypes and ignorance.

but i've got to tell you that we dont have a lot of minorities around here in northern minnesota..just a lot of folks of german, irish, norweigen, and polish descent.

Probably the same reason (and the same morons) that think we still have Wild Indian's raiding homesteads in Montana.
They think their little slice of the world is the only civilized place on earth.

I don't know. Maybe because of the climate. Most Black people live in the South.

no it's not! you're just one person? a few years ago where i loved (Liverpool, England) if you saw a black person you'd go over & shake hands, & go for tea & treat him as if he were your brother...& you'd get really, really funny questions from the kids around & years on & black ppl abound & there's still nothing specifically black going on socially here.

why? except for carribean carnival & church, black ppl don't arrange stuff for themselves, they just want for it to happen, for sum1 else 2do it.

YOU should go & redress the situation in MN & invite me so I can bring liverpudlian blackness & my kru from da london ghetto massif!! anyway for real; if you feel so impassioned about it, why not see what you can do?
