The main reason for taking cod liver oil is for the vitamin A and D content. If your baby is breastfeeding there should be no reason for it. If the baby is on formula, you should look at the vitamin content on the container. Also talk to your doctor. I believe supplementation is not necessary unless there is a medical condition. Age 2 is a good time to start.

hmmm...I have no clue!! LOL!!! What does one give any child cod liver oil for anyway?? Sounds icky!!

Anywho, if the reason is constipation, my mother always used a small amount of DARK Karo syrup in the bottle with their water or formula. It helped and has no ill side effects!

If you aren't sure though, try checking with your docttor...better safe than sorry!!!
(What the heck IS cod liver oil anyway??)

Firstly, speak to your ped. before you give it to the baby. If the baby is constipated, tell the ped. why u want to. I gave it to my son but I can't remember at what age..sorry..are u breatfeeding, my son didn't..so..talk to your doctor first.. take care..
