Haven't they heard of blues, soul, gospel and jazz? Do I have to dig up some Howlin' Wolf, Robert Johnson, Henry Miller Band, Louis Armstrong, Parliament and James Brown and force it on them to make them get the point?

I agree. Hard to find a good band now that understands harmony or what a "hook" is.

There are some good indie bands like Devics, Kissing Tigers and Von Bondies. If you want brass there is Five Hours, Streetlight Manifesto and The Blackheart Procession.

Youre just hearing the rock bands on TV and RADIO. That stuff is disgusting, but hey, blues soul gospel and jazz ARENT rock.

My son is in a rock band and my husband and I went to see him one night and I couldn't stand what I heard. He was screaming into the microphone and I couldn't make out any of the words. I have no idea if the words had meaning or not. I'd love to go back to the early bands. THAT was music.

Yes, I think so! I love the blues, too. Don't forget about Stevie Ray Vaughn, he was a blues master too. And B.B. King! And Buddy Guy! (I've seen B.B. and Buddy at the B.B. King Blues Festival a few years ago, great show!

well, I like Panic! At the disco but i think thats more of a rock/pop band then hardcore rock-i cant stand that stuff but like my dad likes them too-he said its a catchy tune!but nanyways-back to tje question, i think its becouse u like rock wen ur in the rebel stage i really dont no but of course i dunno who is the real rock genere

depends wat u mean by ROCK cuz that wrods get over used wayyyy too easliy, first u goota know wat rock is b4 u say sumting bout it cuz bands like PAnic at the disco andn all that crap isnt even close to rock, ROCK is like HIM,Carol Ann A7x stuff like that
