If you love dance and much as you described, I suggest you don't give it up. Just don't practice hard, take a lot of breaks when you need it. In other words, practice lighty. Give you ankle a break when it needs one, you don't wanna make your ankle worse, because if it does get worse, you might never be able to dance again. Your injury may be large since even physical therapy hasn't worked. Listen to the orothpedics, even though I know it may be hard, just try taking a break everyone once it a while. Have you tryed a hot water bag on your ankle? It works for me, one time I broke my ankle and the hot water bag helped heal it faster. The doctors should know what's wrong with your ankle since there is more technoogly by now, I still am shocked that your ankle hasn't healed for 2 whole years!, (that's A LOT of seconds when you think about it)! And yes I know everyone probably wrote about the same thing because this is a typical answer but I hope I helped, and I hope you get better, xoxoxoxo.....Ami, (yay, my answer is longer than your question!!)

Broken bones (fractures) of the foot and ankle are relatively common; they are often thought to be sprains and may be missed due to the complex structure and relatively small size of the bones in the foot and ankle. If left untreated, pain and difficulty with walking may occur and often the fractures may be difficult to heal at a later time. X-rays are usually sufficient to evaluate fractures of the foot and ankle, but sometimes special imaging exams are needed such as a CT scan or MRI in order to diagnose stress fractures or smaller cracks in the bones.

Ankle Fractures
Fractures of the ankle are commonly a result of a rotational injury, a mechanism similar to when the foot rolls out during an ankle sprain. Ankle fractures often require surgery to replace the fractured pieces to normal anatomic alignment and ensure that the ankle joint is in correct position. Ankle fractures that don’t have gapping or angulation/rotation at the fracture site are usually treated with casting, and don’t require surgery. Ankle fractures
involve the joint cartilage can lead to arthritis in the ankle joint.
It is especially important that ankle fractures

Since position and alignment is very important in dance, how can you dance

My broke her ankle, and walked from the backyard bird feeter to the house. They put a pin in her ankle. It healed ok, she said she can tell when the weather changes.
But know the one ankle is like bigger than the other. dont know why, could be that walking on a broken bone is not good, or it could be that her break was way worse than yours.
