ok, i am 18 and i just moved with my brother in KY...i moved from alabama. anyways....i been here for a month and i met this one guy. hes nice and all and he seems like a true gentlemen....he asked me earlier if i would braid his hair....so i said yes. I asked my sis in law could he come over so that i could braid his hair....she says " yea, in the garage"......im like wut the hell!!!! IN THE GARAGE!!! she and my brother says that they dont want any guys around my two nieces......but they are 7 and 8 and we have a 2 story house...why cant we be downstairs and my nieces be upstairs?......i dont understand.....am i being unethical or are they being a bunch of *** holes?........

I would respect their wishes even though you may think that they are nuts. I do too but thats what happens when you live under someone elses roof. They are just protecting the kids for whatever reasons they have. Maybe the kids have had something happen to them that you dont know about. whatever the reason be respectful and civil.

Well it is their house and you must follow their rules. You have to respect their wishes. You've only been there a month, so how long have you known this guy? Also, in life things and people are not always what they seem. They as parents are looking out for their kids best interest maybe. There are some really sick men in this world that come across as true gentlemen.

Don't make a big deal out of it, so go in the garage and do his hair, that is no big deal. It is best to just keep the peace, it is not worth it, to make an issue about it. I will tell you if you respect their house, you will all get along, just great!

you should respect their rules. often they have very good & perhaps rather private reasons for what they say...
you'd need a search warrant 2 bring any guys into my house if u were my daughter or her friend or acquaintance or even her mother (u get the piont) & its for a good reason.
respect them, it won't kill u 2go in the garage, u might also might wanna check if they have anything more 2say on the subject

That is kinda dumb, but it is there house. Your nieces are at the age where if they are told to stay in one part of the house they could obey. It could be another reason why.

you are wrong as two left shoes. why should your brother open his home to a complete stranger. he has children he has to think of. i don't blame them one bit. you don't know what type of person he is. it takes time for someone to earn trust. consider yourself lucky, they will allow him in the garage. you are in their home so you must abide by their rules, that is the bottom line

Put yourself in their shoes! They are being cautious, in an attemp to protect their children! That's their job! If you don't like the rules, get your own place, and then do what you want!
