G'day Papuman2000,
Thank you for your question.
It seems that Google and YouTube are negotiating at the moment. Internet search leader Google Inc. is in talks to acquire YouTube Inc. for about $1.6 billion, the New York Times reported on October 6, 2006 citing a person familiar with the matter. Mountain View-based Google and San Mateo-based YouTube are still at a sensitive stage in the discussion, the newspaper reported on its Web site. Other media outlets are running the reports so we will have to see what happens. The Times UK reports that negotiations are at an early stage. A Google acquisition or another well-heeled suitor such as Yahoo!, Microsoft or News Limited would help to fund the cost of expansion.
I have attached sources for your reference.
Regards

Google is trying to take over the Internet just like Clear Channel Taking over the Radio.

no.
nobody is going to buy youtube.
they post all kinds of copyrighted material. the only reason nobody has sued them yet is because nobody at youtube has any money to GET. if google buys it, they will be sued instantly, guaranteed.
there was some article on reuters the other day, where some professional market analyst said it would never sell.

i could assume, and it truly is basically an assumption because of the fact i've got self belief in basic terms the folk who paintings at Google understand precisely whats going to ensue, Google already owns YouTube, yet i could assume that each and every little thing could tremendously lots stay an analogous. Your consumer call and password, even if you have stored, and favorites, and so forth. will all stay an analogous. i could think of that in the time of basic terms the look of YouTube will substitute, they are going to probably upload extra suitable factors and whatnot, yet i've got self belief each and every little thing from the customers part will stay an analogous. because each and every little thing else Google does is unfastened provider, i could think of that YouTube will proceed to be unfastened. maximum suitable needs :-)

Really? NOOOO!!!!!! This is bad. YouTube is really kewl, and takes up very little bandwidth. Googlevideo takes up TONS of it. Also, YouTube can post anything, whereas GoogleVideo censors. Also, YouTube is free, and there are certain vids you have to pay for on GoogleVid
