Plagiarism is common but it is illegal, as you know.

That's plagiarism. Goes on all the time. Of course, just because everybody does it, that don't make it right. It's illegal. But sadly, people actually think it's okay.

I guess they'll just have to learn the hard way. And get sued one day, when the intellectual property owners of those passages and articles find out.

I think It also shows that people who do that generally have a lack of respect for others, because they don't place any value on what others have created.

Honestly I never quoet anything or anyone I just try to give my hones opinons on things and if people dont think its the best its the opinion and they are entitled to it.

I do believe that copying and pastying is a lazy way to make yourself feel smart... People should learn to use their own knowledges to help other people with their questions.

I totally agree.... and not just for this section of Y!A

I've seen people gain a reputation as being smart by plagiarizing Wikipedia and they never quote their source! It bothers me when they get compliments on their answers, but I am only too happy to mention it to them! lol

What I have done in the past, is copied the exact same answer and quoted a source, to make a point!

Yeah I think those answers are the most boring...in astrology especially I like to word my answers in my own viewpoints and words....the way I see it and the knowledge that I have inside of my head. It makes it more interesting for people to share their points of view, etc...
