What do you think is a more likely scenario about the future? That we're all substanence farmers, everything's like the movie Mad Max, or we're living like the Jetsons and driving SUV's that run off of pure stupidity, giving us an endless renewable resource?

Stupidity is indeed an endlessly renewable resource. Demand can't even keep up with supply.
I don't think we'll have abundant SUVs in the future, but I do believe there'll always be way too many "trendy" items.

the jetsons, and i think machines will take over and create The Matrix also.

in the future like 100 or so years? i think we'll all be working at home :) not that we'll have an office in our home, but most will live on their workplace...
