My favorite sort of eyeshadow would be the SMOKEY EYE, for this look you'd start with a shimmery color like pink or cream (I prefer JEST from M.A.C.) applying it from the lash line all the way to the lid crease. Then choose a dark color, I do a black (M.A.C. has a great black shadow with glitter, that works best), using a round brush apply from the outter crease to the inner tear duct. I do this with my eyes open so that the round brust goes right into the crease (where it should). Do not forget to blend the outter corner down to the lash line, making a half circle where your crease is. The black shadow should be blended to avoid having a straight line. With either a liquid liner or a very thin brush add a thin layer of black liner to the lash line, apply black eyeliner to the inner eyes and don't forget mascara.

Now you have a nice shimmering color that blends in to the glittering black for an ultra sexy look. Don't forget to apply shimmer (either in a light pink or cream) along the brow bone to highlight the eyebrow.

neutral color - on the lid

on the crease - apply a darker color, but don't do it too heabily, something subtle but darker than the base shade on the lid, and blend!

then put a lighter color blended up to your eyebrow, but don't apply it too heavily. So a light couple sweeps of the color, and blend. MAKE SURE TO BLEND. That is so important to keep it looking natural.

I don't think it matters on the lower lid but never dark past the crease. I think if you start with dark in the crease and put light on the lower lid and blend it looks nice. Or dark on the lower lid and in the crease and put light in the corner of your eye it looks nice too!

I use light on the lid and right underneath the brow and use a medium tone in the middle and put dark right on the crease and blend all together.

pick 3 colors that go well together that match your skin tone or eyecolor. The darkest one goes on the lid, the second lightest goes on the crease and a little bit past it, and the lightest goes as a highlighter on the arch of your eyebrows & blend them well together.

I agree with the dark eyeshadow on your lid first and then light after. Putting your eyeshadow the other way around is, in my opinion, the worst thing you can do. (when putting on makeup)
