The answer is zero. Before you get one they put an IV into your arm which contains anthesia which knocks you out immediately so that you do not feel the pain. I would say to relax for a couple days after it has happened and maybe miss a day or two of school and work. Oh and no matter how badly you want to you cannot drive afterwards. For your safety the place where you get it done at has to make sure that you get a ride from someone else because it is illegal not to and they could get into a whole mess of trouble and if you are eighteen meaning you are no longer a minor you can go to jail.

They won't let you drive after, if you don't have a driver, you will probably have to stay in the office until they say it is okay to leave. The meds they give you during it make you relax and you shouldn't even feel it -- and it is a really quick procedure too. My husband was totally out of it afterwards and couldn't drive if he wanted to (kinda like drunk.) My husband just had one and the pain during is minimal to none. The pain after was kind of bad for my husband, which they said was unusual, but they will give you pain meds to take after. After two days you should be back to almost normal unless you lead a really active lifestyle, then take it easy in the beginning

Iam not a man, but we have looked into it.

Its an out patient procedure. You go home right after its done. Its minimally invasive, in most cases you're not even completely knocked out. The pain is minimal so long as there are no complications.

You're supposed to avoid heavy lifting and major activities involving the groin for a couple weeks, but as far as I know you can walk and drive just fine :)

I rode a motorcycle home after. The procedure itself isn't painful, they give you a local anesthetic. When that wears off there is pain followed by swelling and more pain. It's uncomfortable but bearable, say a 4-5

i had a vasectomy 5 years ago, the pain was about a 2 and i drove myself home and went to work the next day, they give you pain pills, no problem there is some swelling, but it was well worth it,

One thing to remember .. you can still have active sperm for up to 6 months after the Vasectomy .. so she either should be on the pill and/or use a condom. I heard it doesn't hurt afterwards ... but if they say don't drive .. then don't ! Good Luck! :)

Vasectomies are not that bad! All they do is make a small incision and cut the tubes and then sew it up. It may be uncomfortable for a while but it will be ok. I think they tell you not to drive because they don't want you to do anything to disrupt the stitches and stuff. You'll be fine!

They give you pain medication, so i don't advise driving afterwards. The pain is minimal and the healing time is quick! Good luck!
