Depeding on the grade level, I would talk to your school counselor about this.

You could also talk to the principal.

If, as the student, you aren't getting anywhere, I would have either your parent or your friends parent (maybe even both) contact the school.

Make sure that you have written down what the teacher has done, so that if you need to speak with the principal, they are more likely to take you seriously. If you just go in and say that the teacher is picking on students, without "proof" or documentation - then the school may not be as quick to act! Remember to write down the TIME and DATE this happened. If there are any other students who witnessed the comments, write that down too!

Good luck and keep in mind, next year, you will be out of their class!

Let your parents know you feel like your friend is being picked on. Perhaps your parents will call the principal or school counselor.

The boy being picked on should tell his parents and meet with the principal and teacher to discuss the matter.

You and or your friend could also talk to a school counselor or even the building principal about the matter. Kids should feel safe at school and shouldn't be victimized by anyone there. Find someone you feel safe talking to about this and let them know.

Define picking on. It could be that your teacher sees potential in your friend to be a better student. Whining is annoying by anyone's standards. I'm not defending your teacher, but I'm certainly not taking sides either. If your friend's mom feels the teacher is being inappropriate, she should conference with him. There's no point in everyone talking about it without actually talking to the teacher himself.

Is there not an adult around anywhere to help you guys out? If you were my child this would not continue. What this teacher is doing is abusing you and your friend. Some one needs to step in.
