Gladly, but you need to give a little more information. There are tons of English surnames: Edwards, Robbins, Thomson, Jackson, Richards etc.etc.etc. that evolved from a first name. There are scores more, Rider, Ranger, Woods, Croft, Hunter, etc.etc.etc. that evolved from an occupation.
There are lists of English surnames, showing their derivation, and this book is likely in your local library. Failing that, read Burke's Peerage for some spectacularily silly surnames.
