It's a very nice place to visit in general. In Christmas, you can find a lot of hotel parties and celebrations but you will not find the same atmosphere in the streets (no christmas trees, lights, or ceremonies). As others have explained, in Egypt Christians celebrate the Christmas on Jan. 7 not Dec. 25. Anyway, I'd say come and you will enjoy your stay!

I'm Egyptian and was born and raised there!!...Only if you are christian in Egypt then Christmas time would be fun. Our christmas is on January 7th though...its not on the 25 of December. Thats because the Christians celebrate it on a different calendar. On this day, we break our fast...which we start fasting for starting from the end of November all the way until Jan. 7th. On Jan. 7th....we dress nicely with new clothes and go to church and pass gifts and cook huge huge meals...(egyptains eat alot).......so ya....if you're christian, or know christians over there and willing to stay until Jan. 7th....then you should go....other than that....there is nothing special going on on Dec. 25!!!!

I'm Egyptian and I tell you that you may pass a brilliant time (in general) in Egypt at the time of Christmas but if you want the Christmas spirit, you won't find it in Egypt, specially that we celebrate Christmas on the 7th of Jan. and not on the 25th of Dec.
