The conservatives say that our soldiers' psyches are so fragile that if they hear that not everyone is loving Georgie's war back home, that their morale will plummet and they won't be able to fight well anymore. They even say that the reason we haven't won Bush's war yet is because the soldiers' morale is down because they have heard there is some opposition to the war. I don't accept that.

Do you really think our soldiers are so mentally soft??? I don't. Our brave men and women are a lot tougher than that. What do you think??

Our brave soldiers are HEROES! They are not wimps! They should not be insulted by being told they will be emotionally crushed if not ALL Americans fully support the wisdom of the war. Our soldiers are too GREAT to be so insulted!

When you rephrase their spin, it's funny. But this is exactly what they're saying! Good job.

For my own amusement one day, I printed out a Rush rant from rushlimbaugh.com, and tried to restate it into logical arguments. It was bizarre!

But it's all too sad when I realize people believe this blather, and on account of Republican spin and lies, many are dying, losing legs, suffering brain injuries, PST. This is how our soldier's psyches are injured. Political dissent aimed at bringing them home causes little harm to their morale or mental state. Fighting an obviously futile war does.

It worked in Vietnam. The Left protestors won, the Communist won, and 4 million died as a result.
The lesson of Vietnam was that if you want a monument to wasted lives then just leave. The Soldiers in Iraq know this. The thought that by leaving it will stop the killing is very misguided. After the Vietnam pull out the "unreported story" was that 175,000 Montagnards, men women and children, were hunted down and slaughtered. This as Americans covered their ears to block the screams.
150,000 S. Vietnamese were interned into reeducation camps. As Americans watched their favorite TV show.
25 thousand S. Vietnamese were killed out right as colaboraters. Our friends so look the other way.
1.5 million boat people Left their homes and everything they had to escape the Communist and an additional 1 million drowned, lost at sea, trying. Skim past that in the paper.
Cambodia started the killing fields and 2.5 million died.
The Vietnamese Communist attacked the Cambodian Communist and an additional .5 million were killed.
But its quiet there now, the screams have stopped, so I guess it was all ok. Plus, we have a real nice monument in DC to the wasted lives. The only monument below ground level.

It says something about the war. If there is a real good reason and good ethnics about it. You don't need your Commander in chief to say it. You knew it inside of you. Only when you are lost about why you are there, then you need some convincing from someone else.

Our soldiers are not robots, they have their moral and senses. And that's what is what possibly wondering in their minds.

I see what you're saying, but that isn't what's meant at all.
I say things similar to what you've put out here in your question, and here's what I mean:
It's discouraging to the troops to tell them they're fighting and dying for nothing.
It's a horrible blow to their morale to tell them they're failing.
It's awful to tell them they are incapable of doing their job.

It isn't that people are against the war that's the problem. It's what I stated above. I mean, how would YOU feel if you were trying to do your job, and people that were completely ignorant of what you were doing tried to tell you how to do your job, and that you weren't doing it right?
Fact is, I'M tired of uninformed people trying to dictate from their living rooms what's going on in Iraq. I'm tired of the news media doing the same thing, when they're not there on a daily basis.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not totally "for" the war per se, I simply believe in our military. They are capable, and we need to communicate that to them! Otherwise, when they're over there, they'll only fight if it means they'll die if they do not fight.

What the hell are you talking about? Our military is 85% conservative and FAR from weak minded. Why no sources???

I was in the military, NEVER a liberal and hardly weak minded. Ive NEVER heard any conservative attack our patriots now protecting this nation.

This is so typical of filthy liberal rhetoric. They cut military funding, yet claim to love our men in uniform. Which is it? Are we baby killers or patriots lib? Make up your mind....

What a condescending question. The soldiers are putting their lives on the line; It's disheartening to hear some of the things coming from the left.

well... the funny thing is... they were saying the same things against the "action" in Bosnia...

so let's compare... Bosnia was a peacekeeping mission to stabilize a region and stop genocide in a civil war...

Iraq was a war but after "mission accomplished" it's now a peacekeeping mission to stabilize a region and stop genocide in a possible civil war...

basically they can criticize U.S. military actions, but liberals can't... it's ridiculous...

I would GENERALLY agree. I think it depends on the individual soldier.
