I'm thinking about selling some things online.

As a buyer, some things have outrageous shipping. You'll see things like "This item ships Media Mail. $15.00"

crazy. But as a seller, just watch out for deadbeat bidders.

I am a seller and a buyer.
Here are some tips for selling: accept paypal - it will be taken dierctly from their bank account/credit card account and sent to your account. Much easier than waiting for a payment such as a check or money order.

Careful with negative feedback buyers, they are usually high bidders but never pay - some ask for more time and still do no pay. You can always adjust your account so that they do not bid on your item.

Never do any deals outside of ebay after you have listed your item, this will break your contract with ebay and you will not be protected against any frauds.

Make sure to get a receipt comfirmation when mailing your items, it is a dark green for available at the post office.

You can include seller fees in your auction with the delivery fee, that is why some sellers ship for $10 and this is ok, $15 is too much if it can fit in regular envelopes.

Be very honest with the item you are selling.

Be quick on sending your item to the winning bidder.

Keep in contact with your buyer to make sure transaction is smooth and complete.

Do not send anything out unless you have received a payment and it has been cleared.

You do not have to put too much (details) into your ad, because the more you put the more it adds up, even if it is cents, it adds up.

Keep an eye on competition, you might want to start at a low price if someone has the same item for sale. The low price usually goes up.

Goodluck!

I have never had any problems with ebay as a buyer. I do not know if same is true for sellers.
