I would stick to the $10/hour. The couple is use to paying you this amount anyway. And you want to stay loyal to them so I would suggest sticking to your regular fee! Its only one night and a 10 month old baby should sleep thru the night. Best of Luck~

I usually charge $100 a day for overnights, but if it's going to be less than 10 hours, charge hourly. OR, it sounds like you have a nice relationship with this family, did you consider watching him for free or discounted as a anniversary gift? They'll probably end up paying you something or over tipping you next time.

wow, $10/hr for babysitting? Lucky gig... never got that when I babysat! Anyways, for me it depends what type of sleeper he is. If he's like my daughter and sleeps through the night, I dont think the hourly rate is warranted as he'll be sleeping for 10hrs. If he wakes up every few hours needing someone to be there for him, then I'd stick with the $10/hr. Certainly you arent thinking of asking for MORE than your flat rate, right? Sounds like everyone is assuming you will. I'd do whatever I could to keep this job going. And it's a lot different when you are watching 1 vs. 3 children. Of course you couldn't expect to get that much for watching only 1 child.
Holy cow, just read other responses. $200+ for one flipping night?? Umm, can I cover for you when you arent available?

$10 an hour is great. The people you work for must have a good job. My daughter is a hygenius and pays 150 for 4 days, any more and she couldnt make it. Her sitter is a homeschooled girl and excellent. Id be happy with 10 per hour. The baby will be sleeping most of the time as well as you. Of course If you are worth it and they want to pay more take it. I could never have afforded you I only made 10 an hour myself in the 1980s working at Alcoa as a laborer.

I would charge $150. for the day and night maybe tel lthem you'd watch the baby til like noon so they could sleep in too. But that is a long time and you can't really go on hourly so just have a flat rate. You were pretty considerate when you watch three kids for three days for only 300!

If you charge $10.00/hour and it's a 24 hour thing then a flat $240.00.
Personally - It would depend on the difficulty of the child. I'd charge full amount for difficult and 1/2 for easy.
Being it's their "special day" they may want to pay you more to show their appreciation for having such a great babysitter.. BUT if they are GREAT to work for then cut them a small break and charge less. Good Luck!

For an infant for one night i would not charge less than 50 dollars per night. Usually I add 40 to the hourly rate. 12 hours- 120 bucks, plus 40, 160.
But i tend to cut deals for people I think or know cant afford my rates.

I was a nanny for 12 years and charged my hourly rate during the day and half rate during sleeping hours. It was how the agency I worked with did it. No cap on $$$$!

charge them $15 an hour since the kid is less than 1 year. you never know, he just might keep you up the whole night. or charge the usual $10 an hour plus $75 for watching him overnight

My daughter charges 5$ per child per hour. If it is going to be like a weeklong sitting event, we have capped payment to around 200 per week- since that is similar to most day care centers. Any more than that most people cant afford. If you are concerned, sit down with the family and ask what they think would be reasonable and negotiate past that
Keep in mind that in most places- daycares only get like 20-25 per child per day, so i wouldnt try to go much more than that because it would be cheaper to get them in daycare
