If you're talking about depo be careful. I was on that when I was 18 and it deprived calcium from my bones. Later I was diagnosed with osteopenia (so young) It's the stages before osteoporosis. The doctor said I had the bones of a 60 year old. I was able to build my bones back up being that bones grow until 30. So please be careful when taking this. There are so many side effects and you never know if you will fall into that0.02% or whatever. With so many birth control options these days it's better to go with something else. oh and another thing I didn't get my period for the 4 years I was on it. It took over a year to return to normal cycle after I stopped taking it. Good Luck!

Not sure where you're friend got her info from, but I've been on Depo for 7 years and never had this problem. Watch the weight though.

No, depo provera shots don't make your hair fall out. I was on them for a few years. Watch your weight though...the shots can cause weight gain if you are predisposed to it.
