I had a very minor stroke, and it was still devastating; it took two full years to return to almost normal. I have known people who had serious strokes, and they were helpless and unable to walk, talk, eat, control bowels, etc. Stroke is very, very nasty. The best way for you to avoid stroke is to just take the @#$%^^& meds the doctor prescribes. Just do it - the alternative is unbelievably worse!

Sorry to hear that! I also have Antirial Fibulation. I have been on Sotolow for about 18 months to help control it. I also have to take a blood-thinner also. With A-Fid and the delayed beats in the heart is serious. The Coumidin that I have to take will help eliminate a "stroke" I know that you are aware of the danges of A-Fib. What happens is that the blood will "pool" up in the upper chamber and with the delay in the heart-beat can clot and cause a major stroke. I have to take coumidin to thin the blood so that does not happen.
I Take Sotolow 120MG's to control the blood pressure, and to slow my heart rate down. I am like you. They wanted to do an "oblasion" on me but I refused. it is not always affective.
How bad is your A-Fib. If it is continious you have to have help!
I made three trips to the ER within four-days.
I wish you well. We are in this together. Take care, Rody.
If you need some support ...I will tell you what I know.

Bad proposal, for so much sufferers. For so much sufferers, aspirin is a deficient alternative. It simply does not do the activity as good as warfarin does. There IS a brand new med, Pradaxa (US company identify), that may be substituted for warfarin. Taken two times an afternoon, it does not require the periodic blood assessments that warfarin does.
