doubtfull. They don't handle nearly as well as a bike.

It's not the lack of wheels that makes it dangerous, just the lack of caging around the very frail human flesh.

Don't be swayed by the Trikes are unsafe they will turn over or they are Dangerous they have limitations just as a 2 wheeler does , a 2 wheeler can slide from under you in a curve (gravel,Potholes ,objects in road) The first 3 wheelers Mfg by HONDA were not motorcycles they weretop heavy and the center of gravity was not like the trikes of today. And if anyone tells you that you are dumb for dropping a bike at a light or stopsign then he is lying or his time hasn't come yet I have been riding from the age of 14 now 68 and have dropped them and probably will again. I dropped one GL1500 at a stopsign 2 weeks ago didnt see the greasy spot and it had just rained . So it is your choice all bikes are at risk especially from Cars (cagers) According to the National Transportation Statistics.

lol. if someone is dumb enough to forget to put their feet down at a stoplight then they have no business riding anything. To answer the question, it all depends on what you consider "safe". Lots of people die each year from falling in the shower but society still considers showering to be "safe". I would have to say that a 2 wheeler, a trike, and a suv with all the airbags you can put in it are all deathtraps. The american road is a dangerous place to be, but if you think its worth it to get out there and enjoy life then go for it. I ride with two wheels, my step-mom has a big trike. its a matter of preference. Just know that a motorcycle and a trike are completely different. If you know how to ride a two wheeler, dont assume you know how to ride a trike.

Not necessarily! Why? Because you are out there in traffic whether on 2 wheels or 3!
but, yes, they are safer for one reason--if you are handicapped, say an artificial leg, or your riding partner feels safer on 3 wheels, they are a good investment.
Learning to operate one will be more like driving a car, in that you will have to steer more, rather than leaning into a curve.
I rode 2 wheelers with an artificial leg for many years, although i had my knee, which gave me more control when stopping or shifting gears. But, if i could have afforded it, i would have had a trike, to avoid the worry of dropping my 2 wheeler at stop signs or traffic lights! Motorcycles are very heavy, and can't be picked up by the average guy 6'2, who weighs in at 160 lbs! Especially if its lying on yer leg!

My father just traded in his 03 wing for an 06, and had ti triked. He wishes he would have done it 4-5 years ago.

Just like any other vehicle, you need to know your limits as well as the machines. If you exceed either, you are going to crash!

I drove my fathers trike, and it rides beautifully.

There are 3 major trike companies out there. California side car is one. This is the one my father has. It has independent rear suspension, they raked the fork out 4 degrees for more stability, and they are DOT and federal highway certified.

If you are going the way of a trike, do your homework, be aware of what you are getting.

Just remember, exceed your limits or the machines, you will get hurt.

A trike will turn over on you...I'd rather have 2 wheels or 4.

three wheelers are death traps I'm tellin you. one bad mistake in a turn and you are dead meat!!! they quit making 3 wheeled off road bikes because of all the serious injuries. on the street you would have to be nuts to ride one it traffic!

yes. it is safer because of it's limitations
-you won't corner so fast
-you are bigger and will be seen easier
-you can't white-line between the traffic

also
-you have more rubber on the road for braking

Their size (visibility) might be an advantage. They stop quicker.
They don't fall over at stop lights if you forget to put your feet down.

The don't handle as well.\

Motortrike does a good job.
