It usually starts around the 5th to 7th week of pregnancy and disappears between the 12th and the 15th and is often at its worst in the morning, but the nausea and vomiting can strike at any time of day and at any stage of pregnancy. Although the precise cause of morning sickness is still unknown, the two most common culprits of morning sickness are extreme changes in blood sugar levels, which tend to be lowest in the morning, and hormones, which run rampant during pregnancy.

Unfortunately, there isn't a lot you can do about your hormone levels; however, you may be able to alleviate some symptoms of morning sickness if you focus on keeping your blood sugar levels steady. Even though you may not feel like even looking at food, you’re more likely to be nauseous if you allow your stomach to become empty, so try eating many small snacks throughout the day instead of three big ones.

Try the following the help settle your stomach and make you feel better:

Eat a snack before you get up in the morning. Keep crackers by your bed and eat a few 20 minutes before trying to get up. This will help settle your stomach before you begin moving around.
Try snacking on ginger. For some, fresh or candied ginger can ease morning sickness.
Sip water throughout the day. Don’t drink so much that you feel full, which can slosh around in your stomach and add to nausea, but drink a little every few minutes.
Avoid fatty, rich, or spicy foods. Fatty foods take longer to digest (and your digestion is slow enough already!) and bland foods tend to be easier on your stomach.
Try wearing an acupressure band – often sold as a motion-sickness band. There is a pressure point on your wrist that may help relieve nausea from pregnancy as well as motion.
Taking vitamin B6 supplements seems to help some women with morning sickness, but should only be taken in recommended doses, so first talk to your health care provider.

My morning sickness started (with both of my pregnancies) before I even knew I was pregnant- before I even missed a period.

I never found a remedy. Chocolate milk definitely calmed my stomach, even though you would think the opposite would be true. I think different things just work for different people. That whole saltine cracker thing didn't do a thing for me.

With my first pregnancy I puked every day up until delivery. My second wasn't so bad (both of them were boys, so that shoots that theory) I was only sick the first 4 months with him. Day or night didn't matter. It was a all day long event. It seemed to be worse in the morning or late at night though.

It's not a pleasant situation, but it got to be almost "normal" to throw up all day. I was very glad when it was over though!!!

If an egg was fertilized, implantation (when the embryo implants to the lining of your uterus) happens, on average, about 7 days past ovulation. It can happen as early as five days past ovulation or as late as twelve days past ovulation.

Early signs of Pregnancy:

Nausea/vomiting
Headache
Food cravings
Heightened sense of smell
Missed period
Backache
Crampy
Extreme fatigue
Tender/swollen breasts
Frequent trips to the bathroom

These signs can appear as soon as implantation or anytime after, each woman is different! Some women have all of these, some have a few and some women don't have any signs.
Good Luck!

I had morning sickness for the first 4 months of my pregnancy. It happens mostly in the first trimester of pregnancy and then goes away. Good luck!

Every pregnancy is different. I was sick for about the first 6 months with my second baby, but not at all with my first or third. It might not seem like it will ever end, but it will get better! Good luck!

Not everyone gets morning sickness. Also, just because it's called morning sickness doesn't mean you will just get sick in the morning, it can happen all day or just at night or whenever!
Good Luck!

between the 5th and 7th weeks it starts. But if it gets to the point to where you cant keep any foods or liquids down, go see your doctor ASAP. I had to go see mine this week, and he put me on meds that knocks out the nausea and vomiting, and helps me to keep everything down. Since being on these pills for 2 days, i have gained back the 2 pounds i lost while sick for about 2 weeks straight.

If you're pregnant take 25 ml of b6 vitamin three times a day, it curbs morning sickness.

If you dont know that you're pregnant, wait until you're late and take a test.

You can also be very nausious if you're PMSing, its a very common symptom.

Most of the time women dont experience that until after theyre late for their periods, because thats when the peek of hormones happens, and its the hormones that make sick.

I started to experience 'morning sickness' when I was about 6-7 weeks pregnant and it lasted until I was about 16 weeks. Try eating gingernut biscuits or gingerbread. Try to drink lots of water and eat what you can!
