Hey there. For my english class i have to write a scary story, there is no killing to be included, and I have acomplete writers block. I'm usually a great writer but I can't seem to think of anything for a plot. If anyone could offer me a little something or tidbit to go on would really help me out!! I just need to get a start and then I'll think of something, So please if anyone has any ideas let me know! Thank You!! Your help is GREATLY appreciated.

How about starting with where you are right now? A frustrated student staring into a computer screen. His/her hands are on the keys, waiting for inspiration to strike. Suddenly the screen goes black. She/he blinks for a few moments...thinking the stress and computer screen are getting the best of her/him.

Suddenly...he/she sees little glowing letters appear on the screen. Her/his eyes widen and her/his throat tightens as she/he slowly reads the emerging words....

To be completed by you. :)

Just an idea. Hope it helps! Suspense is always much scarier than killing. Keep people guessing about what *might* happen next. Also, think of ways to make things have more than one meaning. (sort of like "LOST")

Good luck!

Scary stories don't always have to be about ghosts and horror. Sometimes they are just a situation that makes people scared and a vivid description of the fear that situation causes. Write about losing your little brother or sister while you are babysitting. Or being in an unfamiliar place and not knowing how you got there.

How about a big storm with power lost? Then a boogerish
pair of eyes starts staring at you in the dark.
You carry on from here!

Go with the haunted house affect. You can do lots of things off of that. It can have secret passages where people get lost. Ghosts and things like that. Hope this will help.

Think of something psycological something that would make someone think not like a killer but something more than a ghost story or something of the sort.
