Laissez_Faire is an ignorant fool. Canada is a capitalist system just like the US. You know obviously NOTHING about socialism so don't even try. I'm a libertarian socialist (which is different from Marxism socialism) and Canada does not reflect my views because it is capitalist (I still LOVE my country though and wouldn't be anywhere else). Just because it's not as bad as the states doesn't mean that it isn't. You want a socialist country? That's impossible. No country can be truly socialist because the system needs to be global in order for it to work properly.
Actually Canada has BETTER healthcare than the US. Harvard Medical (Yes Harvard in the USA) did a study on American and Canadian health care that was published a little while ago. They found out that not only do we Canadians have cheaper heath care, but it is of a better quality and that we are generally healthier than Americans (the only problem is the waiting). We also have some of the very best medical schools.
It's so annyoing how some Americans bash on Canada just because another American favors it more than their own country (vice versa). So maybe they want to move? SO WHAT. As free humans we have the right to live in many places and whats the big deal about staying loyal to your home country. Just because you were born in a place doesn't mean it's right for you. So just let people live where and how they want!

I particularly have lived in the two and the two certainly one of them are mixed economies. the u . s . has each and every of the flaws considered socialist in Canada which contains single payer well-being vehicle (Medicare) and a scientific gadget as socialized because of the fact the united kingdom (The VA). the only distinction is that for the period of the U. S., the single payer well-being vehicle and the socialized drugs is basically attainable to a fragment of the persons. Canada, contains all of us in Medicare. yet in any different case, the two countries are actually a similar economically. I basically moved to l. a. in 2001 from Vancouver because of the fact l. a. has nicer climate most of the time (basically no longer as we communicate) and that i replaced into presented a activity doing what I continually had to do. yet I took a decrease in my time-honored of living doing it.

I just have to respond to "Gadfly". A health care system that's breaking down, we have unelected judges that can over-ride Parliament, multiculturalism is a crock, let's not even talk about Quebec and have you been to Ottawa lately regarding clean cities? I love Canada, born and raised here, but we can do ALOT better!!

Well.... for starters how about the fact that they export more than they import and therefore run a surplus in funds, The US had been running a deficit since 1991.

Canada is not better. The freedoms of the two countries are similar and the countries overall are similar. However, the United States has a stronger military and Canadians are not rude (at least the ones who speak English).

They are not terrorists like the US they gained independence through legal, non violent channels and they don't all pack guns and behave like a bunch of cowboys.
Plus they are not arrogant meglo maniacs who think they run the World and go around invading other peoples countries.
Plus they don't keep banning stuff like alcohol, drugs and communists.
Plus their country wasn't built on slavery.

Canada likes to think it's more liberal. But when it comes to getting things done, it's hopeless and incompetent. Depends whether you prefer pretend nice, or good sense. The best thing about Canada is the Americans living here. Most of the rest are useless.
