Yes.
Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).
The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."
Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.
Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.
With love in Christ.

Although not directly stated in the bible as a sin. Some of the activities that enable most basturbation are a sin. Fantasisng/lusting after women that you are not married to is a sin. This is primarily how most guys masturebate.
The act in and of itself is not. Doing it with your wife or thinking about your wife are okay.

having been raised Catholic and having gone to a Catholic grade school, high school, and college-----YES, i was taught that masturbation is a sin. but, i was also taught that sin is an act committed intentionally to offend God. i don't think any of us ever set out to cause offense to God. after all, God gave us the gift of being able TO masturbate. so, to answer your question, NO i do not believe that masturbation is a sin. one does not start jerk--- off to intentionally displease God. i hold the opposite view---it's a sin that anyone denies himself/herself this gratifying act. don't you think you deserve some sexual pleasure, solo or partnered? i say, go for any and every opportunity to engage in sex, as long as you don't hurt someone (like the priests who have molested boys and girls for years). that's the SIN!

Yea I know the church leaders do not always tell the truth they tell you what they want to be the truth. The truth is masturbation is not mentioned in the bible. It is not mentioned in the old or new testament. There is no mention of masturbation or any type of activity of touch yourself in the bible. All the references to sexual sin in the bible refer to type of partners or cheating on partners.

It depends. If you are religious cult member, believer in one form of organised religion(s), then yes, religions consider this a sin.
I think anyone who believes in this nonesense deverves to quit masturbating out of fear, and then die of prostate cancer !!!
But seriously (although the prostate cancer is no joke) if there were to be a "god" in the organised religions' belief, and masturbation was a sin, then I am so burning in hell forver time 100... Hell, I got my own suite reserved for me down there!
A picture is worth a thousand words, so a thousand pictures are worth a million words!

Check these (and more in their links) groups about my own favorite and "odd"/different/"weird" masturbation techniques, centering around the B-doll fetish... Don't forget to use lubrication!
Cheers!

Well, it depends on what your beliefs are. I'm catholic, and typically catholics would say, yes it is. But i disagree with that. I think it's a perfectly natural part of being human. Plus, it's healthy and won't give you an STD!

The only part that may be considered a sin about masturbation is that you may be cheating on your right hand with your left, that is considered adultery...Keep on stroking, it is safe sex...
